New Delhi: The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has identified another Punjab-linked Indian national as wanted in an organised crime investigation, days after releasing details of Amritpal Singh, who reportedly died in a road accident in Punjab in February 2025.
The FBI has named the second individual as Gurpreet Singh, alleging his involvement in a Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) conspiracy linked to an organised crime network.
According to the FBI, Gurpreet Singh is wanted on allegations including conspiracy to engage in the unlicensed dealing of firearms, conspiracy to possess controlled substances with intent to distribute, and distribution of controlled substances.
The agency said the alleged criminal network, identified as the Jaggu Bhagwanpuria Organised Crime Group, originated in Punjab and operated in the Central District of California and other locations in the United States.
The FBI said a federal arrest warrant for Gurpreet Singh was issued on June 25, 2026, by the US District Court for the Central District of California, Los Angeles, after he was charged with conspiracy to distribute controlled substances and possession with intent to distribute.
The development comes two days after the FBI released details of Amritpal Singh, who had been named in the same investigation. According to his family, Amritpal had returned to his native Mowai village in Jalandhar district from Canada and died in a road accident on February 19, 2025, while returning from his fields.
In June, jailed Punjabi gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Jaggu Bhagwanpuria were among 37 individuals charged as part of Operation Hard Ball, a US-led crackdown targeting international organised crime networks.
