Gold falls to ₹1.48 lakh, silver hits 10-month low in Delhi

New Delhi: Gold and silver prices continued to decline on Thursday, with gold falling ₹1,000 to a three-month low of ₹1.48 lakh per 10 grams in Delhi, while silver dropped ₹5,900 to a 10-month low of ₹2,07,500 per kilogram, according to the All India Sarafa Association.

Gold was quoted at ₹1,48,000 per 10 grams, including all taxes. It was last seen trading around this level on July 30.

Silver prices fell to ₹2,07,500 per kilogram from ₹2,13,400 on Wednesday amid weak demand.

Silver has declined by ₹31,500, or 13.18%, from ₹2.39 lakh per kilogram on December 31, 2025. It is also down ₹1.97 lakh, or 48.70%, from its record high of ₹4,04,500 per kilogram recorded on January 29.

Jatin Trivedi, vice-president and research analyst at LKP Securities, said gold prices were under pressure in the domestic market amid concerns over the conflict in West Asia.

Ashish Rajodia, head of commodities at PL Capital, said crude oil prices rising to around $112 per barrel had fuelled inflation concerns. This has strengthened expectations that central banks may keep interest rates elevated for longer, weighing on precious metals.

Rajodia said silver had fallen more sharply than gold because of its higher price volatility. Signals of a hawkish stance from the US Federal Reserve were also putting pressure on both metals, he added.

However, he said a moderation in crude oil prices and easing US-Iran tensions could give gold and silver an opportunity to recover.
