Jalandhar: Three people were killed and two others injured in a road accident at Jahura railway crossing on the Jalandhar-Pathankot National Highway on Sunday afternoon.
According to preliminary information, the car was travelling from Jalandhar towards Jammu when its driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle. The car then crashed into a eucalyptus tree.
A person who was sitting near the tree died on the spot, while two occupants of the car also succumbed to their injuries. Two other people travelling in the vehicle were injured and were taken to Civil Hospital, Tanda, for treatment.
The car reportedly had four occupants.
Police from Bhogpur police station reached the spot and initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
