Tarn Taran: Two women were allegedly run over by a man following an argument in Naushehra Pannuan town of Tarn Taran district. Both women later died during treatment at a hospital, while the accused fled the spot after abandoning his car.
According to a statement given to Sarhali police, Jhilmil Singh, a resident of Feruman Beas in Amritsar, said he had visited his sister Rajbir Kaur in Chaudhriwala village, where she is married to Bhupinder Singh.
Jhilmil Singh said Rajbir Kaur and her mother-in-law, Surjit Kaur, wife of late Narinder Singh, had gone to the house of their neighbour Baldev Singh alias Fauji. During their visit, an argument broke out between Baldev Singh and the two women over an unspecified matter.
According to the complaint, Baldev Singh allegedly became angry during the argument, started his Swift car (PB03 BF 2602) and drove it into Rajbir Kaur and Surjit Kaur.
Both women suffered serious injuries and were rushed to Guru Nanak Dev Super Speciality Hospital in Tarn Taran. They died during treatment.
SHO Rohan Singh of Sarhali police station reached the spot with a police team. A case has been registered against Baldev Singh and an investigation is underway.
