Ludhiana: Bageshwar Dham Peethadheeshwar Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri will deliver Hanumant Katha in Ludhiana for the first time during a five-day religious and spiritual event from September 26 to 30.
The event, organised by Manglam Welfare and Charitable Society, will be held at the GLADA ground opposite Vardhman Mills on Chandigarh Road. A pandal spread over around one lakh square feet is being prepared, with seating arrangements for nearly 70,000 people.
Around 2,500 women also took out a Kalash Yatra on Thursday as part of the preparations. Dhirendra Krishna Shastri is scheduled to arrive at Halwara airport by helicopter on Friday evening and will stay in Kailash Nagar, around 3.5 km from the event venue.
Society president Varinder Sehgal said this is the first time Dhirendra Krishna Shastri’s Hanumant Katha is being organised in Ludhiana. Devotees will hear stories related to Lord Hanuman and Lord Ram during the programme.
According to the organisers, the five-day event will feature special prayers dedicated to Lord Hanuman, episodes from the Ram Katha, religious rituals and a grand darbar. The organisers said the objective is to provide devotees with a religious and spiritual environment and connect them with Sanatan culture.
Messages on devotion and spiritual life
The organising committee said messages related to devotion, values, service and spiritual life will also be shared during the event. Devotees will also have an opportunity to seek blessings from Dhirendra Krishna Shastri through Paduka Pujan, according to the organisers.
Devotees expected from Punjab, neighbouring states
The organisers expect devotees from different districts of Punjab as well as neighbouring states. Arrangements are being made for seating, drinking water, medical assistance, parking, security and entry management.
Separate committees are being formed to ensure the smooth conduct of the programme, while volunteers will be assigned different responsibilities to assist devotees.
Three-tier security, special traffic plan
With a large gathering expected, the district police have made extensive security arrangements. Traffic police will prepare a special five-day route plan, particularly for Chandigarh Road, to minimise traffic disruption.
A three-tier security cordon has been deployed at the venue. Additional police personnel may be deployed if required. Intelligence teams are also monitoring the arrangements and providing regular updates to senior police officials.
