New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on Saturday to attend the 18th BRICS Summit, being held under India’s chairship. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar accompanied him.
Russian President Vladimir Putin and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan have also reached the summit venue.
The BRICS leaders are scheduled to participate in a closed-door session on “Inclusive Global Governance and Strengthening Multilateralism”. They will also visit the Bharat Innovates Exhibition showcasing innovation and developments from India.
Modi holds talks with Ethiopian PM
Ahead of the summit, Modi held a bilateral meeting with Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali at Hyderabad House in New Delhi on Saturday.
Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates became full BRICS members in January 2024, while Indonesia joined the grouping in January 2025.
