Chandigarh: Newly appointed Punjab Congress in-charge Sachin Pilot will visit Chandigarh on September 15 for his first tour of the state since taking charge of the party’s affairs in Punjab.
The visit has generated considerable interest among Congress workers and leaders and comes amid discussions over the party’s internal factionalism, Punjab’s political landscape and preparations for the 2027 Assembly elections.
During his visit, Pilot is scheduled to participate in a Congress protest in Chandigarh over the Sangrur suicide case. The party plans to gherao the residence of Punjab Cabinet Minister Harpal Singh Cheema as part of its protest.
Senior Punjab Congress leaders and a large number of party workers are expected to join Pilot during the demonstration.
