Tarn Taran: A Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) of the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) was allegedly assaulted by three masked men at the Fatehabad substation in Tarn Taran district after they confronted him over poor electricity supply.
According to the complaint lodged with the Fatehabad police outpost, SDO Satnam Singh was performing official duties at the substation when three unidentified masked individuals entered his office and allegedly abused and attacked him over the power supply situation.
After carrying out the assault, the accused fled the scene.
Satnam Singh sustained serious injuries in the attack and was rushed to hospital by fellow employees, where he is currently undergoing treatment.
Police said a case has been registered against the unidentified accused based on the SDO’s statement. Fatehabad police outpost in-charge Parmjeet Singh said raids are underway to identify and arrest those involved in the assault.
