Chandigarh: The Punjab cabinet on Saturday approved several decisions related to the state’s administrative and departmental functioning, including changes to regulations governing Group-A posts under the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC).
Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said the cabinet approved improvements to the existing Group-A regulations and cleared the creation of new Group-A posts. The cabinet also approved the creation of additional Secretariat Assistant posts.
The cabinet also considered a report related to the Information and Public Relations Department. After discussion, the report was approved.
Purchase policy-2026 gets cabinet nod
The cabinet also approved the Custom Milling Policy-2026 of the Food and Civil Supplies Department, along with the state’s Purchase Policy-2026.
Cheema said the decisions were aimed at streamlining departmental functioning and the procurement process in the state.
