Washington: Two US service members were killed in an attack on a US military base in Jordan on Saturday, marking a major escalation in tensions between the United States and Iran.
According to the US military, the attack involved missiles and drones targeting the American installation. US forces responded to the assault, but two personnel lost their lives during the operation.
The incident is expected to further heighten tensions between Washington and Tehran, with the possibility of additional military action in the region.
Meanwhile, Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei warned that the United States would face severe consequences if it continued its military operations against Iran. In a televised message, he said Iran would respond firmly to any further attacks.
The latest developments came after Iran announced it was suspending its commitments under an interim agreement aimed at reducing hostilities between the two countries.
With both sides exchanging strong warnings and military action continuing, concerns are growing that the conflict could widen further, raising fresh security fears across the Middle East.
