Union minister Jitendra Singh alleges foreign funding of CJP activists; Congress seeks evidence

Bengaluru: Union minister Jitendra Singh on Thursday accused activists of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) of receiving funds from alleged anti-national organisations in India and abroad, claiming that evidence was available to substantiate the allegations.

Speaking to the media in Bengaluru, Singh alleged that foreign-funded NGOs and anti-national forces were shaping narratives against the country.

Referring to individuals associated with the campaign, Singh claimed that Abhijit Deepke was receiving funds from US-based donors, while Ashutosh Ranka was allegedly being paid by Pakistani politicians.

Singh said there was sufficient evidence to show that the activists were receiving money from unauthorised sources, including organisations he described as anti-national. The allegations were not independently verified.

Meanwhile, Karnataka home minister Priyank Kharge on Wednesday hit back at the BJP over allegations of foreign funding to the Congress, questioning the evidence behind the claims.

Kharge challenged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to participate in an open debate on the issue, with RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat as moderator.
