West Indies Stun India by Five Wickets in New Chandigarh ODI

New Chandigarh: West Indies defeated No. 1-ranked India by five wickets in the third ODI in New Chandigarh, chasing down a target of 352 runs in 48.2 overs.

India, after winning the toss and batting first, posted 351/7 in 50 overs. KL Rahul top-scored with an unbeaten 129 off 87 balls, while Rohit Sharma made 92 and Ruturaj Gaikwad contributed 57.

Rohit reached the milestone of 10,000 ODI runs as an opener during his 92-run innings, becoming the fourth batter to achieve the feat after Sachin Tendulkar, Sanath Jayasuriya and Chris Gayle.

Rahul completed his century from 80 balls and remained unbeaten until the end, playing a key role in taking India beyond 350. Gaikwad also scored a half-century, while captain Shubman Gill was dismissed for one run. Virat Kohli was dismissed without scoring after being bowled by Jayden Seales.

Chasing 352, West Indies reached 352/5 in 48.2 overs. Captain Shai Hope led the successful chase with an unbeaten 160, guiding his team to a five-wicket victory.

The result saw West Indies defeat India, a team ranked significantly higher than them, on Indian soil.
