Electoral bond case: Supreme Court issues notice to SBI

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Friday said the State Bank of India (SBI) should have disclosed the unique alpha-numeric number of electoral bonds received by political parties.

The court has sought a response from the bank in this regard.

A constitution bench headed by Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud was hearing the Election Commission’s plea seeking modification of a part of the court’s March 11 order in the electoral bond case.

The court asked its registrar (judicial) to ensure that the data submitted by the Election Commission in a sealed cover is scanned and made available through digital means.
