Search operation underway in J&K’s Anantnag for 48 hours: Terrorists hiding in dense forests, one soldier missing

Srinagar News: A soldier has gone missing and two others have been injured in an over 48-hour-long encounter with militants in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district, police said on Friday. 
       Late on Tuesday night, the army and the police launched a joint search operation to search for the terrorists. The fierce encounter started in the early hours of Wednesday. A Colonel, a Major and a Jammu and Kashmir DSP were killed in Anantnag on Wednesday. At the same time, the army killed 2 terrorists.
        It is reported that a soldier injured in the encounter is missing. Two to three terrorists are still hiding there. These are the same terrorists about whom the operation was launched late on Tuesday night on intelligence input. 
        During the search, it was found that the terrorists are hiding in the dense forests above the village. The terrorists are also being monitored by drones and harons so that they do not escape. Modern weapons and devices are being used in the search for terrorists.
