Himachal Assembly bypolls: BJP fields 6 ‘rebel Congress’ MLAs

Shimla: The BJP has fielded all the six disqualified MLAs who have quit the Congress and joined it in the Himachal Pradesh Assembly by-election.

Congress leaders who joined the BJP include Sudhir Sharma, Ravi Thakur, Rajinder Rana, Inder Dutt Lakhanpal, Chaitanya Sharma and Devinder Kumar Bhutto.

They were disqualified from the assembly for voting for the BJP candidate in the Rajya Sabha elections in violation of the party whip.
