Discrepancies in OPD record, Notices issued to 28 Aam Aadmi Clinics in Ludhiana

Ludhiana: The Aam Aadmi Clinics in Ludhiana are encountering discrepancies in the data of the outpatient department (OPD), leading to investigations into these clinics.

It has been observed that 28 out of the 75 mohalla clinics have notably lower patient numbers, with some experiencing a drop of more than 40 percent between December 2023 and January 2024. Despite this, the recorded entry data for these mohalla clinics remains high.

Many clinics have reported significantly higher numbers of patients, prompting the civil surgeon to issue notices to 28 clinics out of the total 75. The number of OPDs in these heavily visited clinics has decreased by at least 40 percent.

Doctors appointed in clinics receive Rs 50 per patient from the government, while pharmacists and clinic assistants earn Rs 12 and Rs 10, respectively, for each patient they attend to.

Doctors also receive a fixed monthly salary of approximately Rs 63,000, while clinic assistants and pharmacists are guaranteed minimum salaries of Rs 11,000 and Rs 12,000, respectively. It has been noted that many clinics are falsifying data to increase their commission.
