After Diwali, ‘air quality’ in many cities of Punjab
After Diwali, many parts of Punjab and Haryana recorded air quality in the ‘poor’ and ‘very poor’ categories this morning.
According to central pollution control board data, the air quality index (AQI) in Gurugram in Haryana and Ludhiana in Punjab stood at 313 and 269 at 10:10 am, respectively.
Punjab, Amritsar, Mandi Gobindgarh, Patiala, Jalandhar and Khanna recorded air quality at 249, 208, 225, 260 and 212 respectively.
The Punjab government had allowed bursting of firecrackers on Diwali for two hours from 8 pm to 10 pm.
