After the High Court’s decision, Zira liquor factory owners get big relief
Chandigarh: A hearing was held in the Punjab and Haryana High Court today regarding Zira liquor factory. After the court’s decision, there is news of relief for factory owners.
The high court ordered that the state government will have to give an opportunity to the factory to present its case before issuing any order.
After which the Punjab Pollution Control Board has also withdrawn its order not to allow the cumin liquor factory to run.
The court reprimanded the government
The Punjab Pollution Control Board has withdrawn its orders after the chief justice’s bench reprimanded it.
The factory owners said that despite the high court’s order, permission was not given under the Water Conservation and Pollution Control Act. Also, the petition filed against this case was not given an opportunity to be heard.
Punjab government gets two weeks time
The High Court has ordered the Punjab government to issue an order within two weeks after hearing their side in the factory case.
The court has said that the report of NGT and Punjab Pollution Control Board should also be considered. The factory owners said that despite the report being in their favor, they are not being allowed to run the factory.
