Air India cancels Amritsar-Delhi flight, Passengers create ruckus at the airport

Amritsar: The Amritsar-Delhi air route was significantly impacted by fog in Amritsar, Punjab, leading Air India to postpone the first flight. When passengers arrived late at Amritsar airport, the airline displayed a notice of flight cancellation on the board, resulting in a considerable uproar among the passengers.

Notably, visibility had dropped to 25 meters due to smog in Punjab. Simultaneously, the situation in Delhi was unfavorable, causing delays in all flights to Delhi on that day. Initially, Air India opted to postpone flight number AI461/462, rescheduling it to depart from Amritsar at 10 am, approximately two hours behind the original schedule.

The revised flight time was communicated to the passengers, who arrived at the airport accordingly. However, upon reaching the airport, they discovered a notice canceling Air India’s Delhi-Amritsar-Delhi flight.

Passengers claimed that they were not notified about the flight cancellation. Moreover, they expressed frustration as there were no alternative flight options available. Approximately 10 passengers had connecting flights to England and USA, and the cancellation of this flight resulted in them missing their subsequent flights.
