Balwinder Singh returned to Punjab after paying Rs 2 crore blood money, Spent 11-year in jail

Punjab News: Balwinder Singh, who was acquitted in a murder case by paying blood money of Rs 2 crore in Saudi Arabia, has returned home. Balwinder is a resident of Mallan village in Muktsar. He returned to his ancestral home  over 15 years later. During this, Balwinder’s family members and the people of the village welcomed him.
      On this occasion, Balwinder Singh said that he feels like he has been born again after returning to his home in Punjab.
      According to cousin Joginder Singh, Balwinder Singh had gone to Saudi Arabia in 2008. In 2012, a man was killed in a simple fight incident, which was blamed on Balwinder Singh. 
      The court sentenced him to seven years imprisonment. When the seven-year sentence was about to be completed, in 2019, the court ordered his beheading or giving blood money of one million riyals (Rs 2 crore in Indian currency) to the victim’s family in accordance with Saudi Arabian law.
