Bibi Jagir Kaur announces formation of ‘Shiromani Akali Panth’
Kapurthala: Former Akali Dal leader Bibi Jagir Kaur, who had opposed the envelope culture in the selection of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) chief, announced the formation of a new religious body ‘Shiromani Akali Panth’ on the last day of the 73rd annual celebrations of Sant Prem Singh Muralwale in Begowal.
The sangat present on the occasion agreed with the slogan ‘Bole So Nihal’.
Bibi Jagir Kaur said that the need for the institutions of Sikh religion to come together on one platform was felt since the time when the SGPC challenged the envelope culture in the elections.
She said that she vows from this holy place of Sant Prem Singh ji that Sikh principles will be guarded with till her last breath.
