Desecration attempt in Morinda town of Rupnagar by Sikh youth, arrested
Chandigarh: A major incident of sacrilege of Sri Guru Granth Sahib has come to light in Punjab. Here, a turbaned man entered the gurudwara and started beating the granthi who were reciting. The incident took place at Morinda in Ropar district on Monday.
After the incident, the people present in the gurudwara caught the young man and dragged the him out of the gurudwara.
Following the incident, people in the area started a sit-in on the road in Morinda. The situation in Morinda became tense after the incident.
At present, the police is interrogating him. The SGPC has also condemned the incident and sought strict action into the matter.
