Cab, auto drivers to go on strike in Chandigarh today

Chandigarh News: Most of the cab and auto drivers in the Chandigarh city will go on strike from Thursday to press for their demands and seeking justice in the murder case of a cab driver. The drivers will stop their work and gather at the rally ground in Sector-2 where they will go on a hunger strike and the future strategy will be formulated.
    Union spokesperson Inderjit Singh said that due to the indifferent behaviour of the companies, many of their members were killed by criminal elements. He said that he had made several requests to the Chandigarh administration in this regard but the administration did not take their problem seriously. He said that drivers will begin an indefinite hunger strike in Sector 25 from Thursday to protest against the apathy of the administration and poor behaviour of the companies.
