CBI sends notice to IPS Kuldeep Chahal to join probe
Punjabenews: The problems of IPS Kuldeep Chahal, who is surrounded by allegations of corruption, seem to be increasing further.
According to sources, the CBI has sent a notice to IPS Kuldeep Chahal to join the investigation. The CBI is investigating Kuldeep Chahal in a corruption case.
According to the information, there have been allegations of protecting a senior officer of The Big Mall of Chandigarh in a case of physical abuse.
On December 12, Chandigarh Administrator Banwari Lal Purohit relieved him from the post of SSP, Chandigarh. Kuldeep Chahal is currently the Commissioner of Jalandhar.
On December 14, Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit had issued a letter to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, saying there was a complaint of serious misconduct against Chahal.
The decision to remove Chahal from the post of SSP, Chandigarh, was taken in consultation with the Punjab Chief Secretary till November 28, 2022. It was also asked to send a panel of three eligible IPS officers for the SSP of Chandigarh.
