Cheema launches Tax Intelligence Portal developed by TIU

SAS Nagar: The Finance, Planning, Programme Implementation, Excise and Taxation Minister Advocate Harpal Singh Cheema on Tuesday launched the Tax Intelligence Portal, an analytical tool developed by Tax Intelligence Unit for state GST officers. He also flagged off 8 Innova cars of the Taxation Department.

Launching Tax Intelligence portal here at Excise and Taxation Bhawan, the Excise and Taxation Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said that this portal would help the tax officials of state to analyse and monitor the tax collection and compliance in their jurisdiction. “This system caters to the requirements of the field level offices and enforcement and intelligence offices to identify the defaulters and tax evaders. It provides backwards supply chain verification linkage and actionable reports to field formations”, he added.

He further added that this portal would help in effective analysis of various data available, enhanced compliance by Taxpayers, better scrutiny in Refund verification, ease in Audit proceedings, thorough supply Chain analysis, live monitoring of Return defaulters and auto Interest calculation of late Filers.

 

Flags off 8 cars of Taxation Department

Meanwhile, the Minister also flagged off newly procured 8 Innova cars of the Taxation Department. He said that 42 such vehicles would be soon added in this fleet to strengthen the mobility capacity of the department. Exhorting the officials and employees of the department to work with full dedication, Mr. Harpal Singh Cheema said that the state government is committed to fulfill their infrastructural requirements.

Prominent amongst others, Financial Commissioner Taxation Vikas Partap, Taxation Commissioner Kamal Kishore Yadav, Excise Commissioner Varun Roojam, Additional Commissioner -1 Viraj S. Tidke, Director Investigation Tejbir Singh Sidhu were also present on this occasion.
