DC forms committees for vigil on mining activities in sub-divisions

Jalandhar News: In a move to monitor the mining activities, Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Sarangal on Tuesday set up a committee headed by SDM in each 6 of sub-divisions of the district to physically inspect all public and commercial mining sites besides preventing any illegal mining.

     In a order passed on Tuesday, Sarangal said that the Jalandhar had six sub-divisions namely Jalandhar-1, Jalandhar-II, Nakodar, Shahkot, Phillaur and Adampur and this committee would be headed by SDM of each division as Chairman.

      He said that the committee would comprise concerned SDO Mining as member secretary , JE Mining, DSP, Forest Range Officer, BDPO and Naib Tehsildar as members .

      Deputy Commissioner said that these committees would conduct on-ground inspection of public and commercial mining sites and illegal mining prone areas after 15-day regularly and submit the report to district level monitoring committee.

       He asked the committees to ensure that legal mining operations must not be affected so that common people do not suffer any kind of difficulty in getting the sand at affordable rates.

       Sarangal also directed the committees to ensure illegal mining does not take place in the district and register FIRs against the guilty, promptly.
