Punjab News: Former Punjab Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu is set to be released from Patiala jail today. According to the information, Navjot Sidhu is being released from jail at around 11 am. After his release, Navjot Sidhu will first pay obeisance at the Gurudwara and then pay obeisance at the Kali mata temple.
Navjot Singh Sidhu is being released 48 days ago for not taking a leave for the last one year. Sidhu is serving a one-year jail term in the Road Rage case.
Sidhu was sentenced to one-year imprisonment by the Supreme Court on May 19, 2022.
In this regard, he had to stay in jail till May 18, but according to the rules, prisoners are given leave of one month and four days. Sidhu did not take a single leave during this period, so his sentence will be completed by the end of March 48 days ago and he will be released today.
