No documents to prove Avtar Singh Khanda’s Indian citizenship, says Centre to Court

Chandigarh News: The Central Government has given its reply to the Punjab and Haryana High Court on a petition seeking to bring the body of Avtar Singh alias Khanda, who has been declared a terrorist by the Government of India.
Responding to the petition, the central government said that they do not have any evidence or document of terrorist Khanda’s Indian citizenship.
Khanda, 35, a pro-Khalistani activist, had roped in Dubai to lead Waris Punjab Dey chief Amritpal to revive the Khalistan movement in India.
Khanda’s sister Jaspreet Kaur had approached the Punjab and Haryana High Court seeking repatriation of Khanda’s body to India after he died at Birmingham City Hospital on June 15 after suffering from blood cancer. He demanded that his brother’s last wish be fulfilled by cremation in Moga.
