PSPCL imposes fine rupees 29.38 lakh to hotel for theft of electricity

Jalandhar: A raid was conducted by the teams of the Enforcement wing of PSPCL to a restaurant-cum-hotel on the Dhina-Jamsher (Jalandhar) road on the basis of secret information and this hotel was caught stealing electricity. Due to non-payment of the bill of more than 7 lakh rupees of this hotel on December 2022, the meter had been removed and the electricity supply of the hotel was being operated by hooking directly from the LT cable of the transformer attached to the hotel. was On the spot, the cable used for power theft was seized from the hotel and the supply was disconnected and during the checking, the moving load was found to be 40.303 KW, for which a fine of Rs 29.38 lakh and Rs 2 lakh was charged as cumpodding fee.
