Punjab firms up investment around Rs. 1225 crore in food processing and allied industries

Chandigarh News: Amid various steps taken for ease of doing business, Punjab firmed up fresh investment of around Rs. 1225 Crores in food processing and allied industries during “World Food India 2023” event at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.

      Punjab’s dynamic presence as the partner state at the second edition of “World Food India 2023” from November 3 to 5 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, has drawn global attention.

      On the Inaugural day of the event Investment Promotion Minister Ms. Anmol Gagan Maan accompanied by DPS kharbanda, IAS, CEO Invest Punjab met the CEOs and senior delegates from processing majors such as HUL, Super tasty bakers, Navara (Spain), LULU Group (UAE), Danone India, Marcel Auguste (France), Vista foods (OSI Group company, USA) and more.

      These meetings aimed to foster opportunities for collaboration, emphasizing mutual growth and the exchange of expertise in the ever-evolving food processing landscape. The industry captains were enthusiastic about the opportunities, extended thanks towards Punjab’s commitment to a thriving business environment. Ms. Anmol Gagan Maan has assured of unwavering support and seamless facilitation to all exploring Punjab for investments. This collaborative spirit solidified Punjab’s role as a hub for innovation, quality, and prosperity in the food processing sector on the global stage.
Ms. Mann informed that Punjab has received fresh investment intent of around Rs. 1225 crore in food processing and allied industries on Day 1 of the event.

       Pertinently Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India is organising this international mega food event, has the biggest ever congregation of senior government dignitaries, global investors and business leaders of major global and domestic agri-food companies.

      The Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Maan has motivated investors to invest in Punjab by successfully organizing the Invest Punjab, Tourism Summit and Sarkar-Sanatkat Milni program during the last one and a half year. These efforts yielded desired results.
