Punjab government’s budget session: Issue raised of inclusion of kidney patients in disability category

Chandigarh: The fifth day of the budget session of the Punjab government has begun. During this session, the issue of including kidney patients in the category of disability has been raised for the first time. Health Minister Balbir Singh stated that until now, this disease has not been included in the disability category, but the matter is serious.

He himself will take up the matter with the central government and demand that this disease be classified as a disability, enabling patients to receive proper treatment facilities.

In today’s budget session, the damage to wheat and potato crops due to a hailstorm a few days ago will be raised by Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) MLAs through a calling attention motion.

Following this, eight resolutions will be proposed by Akali Dal and Congress MLAs. These resolutions include proposals to halt illegal tree felling to protect the environment, implement measures to prevent road accidents, enhance the income of the farming community, enact legislation to fulfill the promises made in the election manifesto after the formation of the government, and take appropriate steps to prevent youth deaths due to drug abuse in the state.
