Punjabi university suspends ‘pakka morcha’ after assurance of probe

Patiala News: The ‘Pakka Morcha’ organised by some student organisations in Punjabi University today has been postponed. The sit-in has been taken as part of the assurance given by the administration to conduct a fair probe within a single day. However, throughout the day, the area with the main gate of the university remained a police cantonment.
One of the students had deteriorated in her hostel and had left for her home the same day where she died the next morning.
A teacher was beaten up by the students on the pretext that the girl used to suffer due to his bad behaviour. Apart from this, the police had also registered a case against many students for beating the teacher, but the students termed the case as wrong and demanded that the teacher be suspended and a case should also be registered against him.
