Sunil Jakhar likely to be new President of Punjab BJP
Punjab News: As the BJP is planning for for a big revamp in Punjab ahead of the crucial Lok Sabha elections, the party high command has decided to appoint senior leader Sunil Jakhar its Punjab President.
According to the sources familiar with the development, the local leadership has already been informed about this decision and a formal announcement would be made soon.
Sunil Kumar Jakhar, formerly the President of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (2017– 2021), had joined the BJP in May 2022 claiming that he would support “nationalism, unity and brotherhood in Punjab”.
Jakhar was a member of the Indian National Congress (INC) for five decades until 2022.
