Supreme Court issues notice to Majithia on Punjab govt’s plea against his bail
New Delhi: The Supreme Court issued notice to Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Bikram Singh Majithia on a plea filed by the Punjab government against the Punjab and Haryana High Court order granting him bail in a drugs case.
Advocate Shyam Divan, appearing for the Punjab government, made the submissions before a bench headed by Justice Aniruddha Bose on the drug menace in the state and the case.
The case against Majithia was registered on the basis of a report submitted by the Anti-Drug Special Task Force in 2018 on the drug menace in the state.
