Viral Video: “Restaurant denies entry to Sikh youth with Kirpan”, Sukhbir Badal demands action from Home Affairs Ministry

New Delhi: A video of a restaurant in DLF Phase 1, a posh area of Gurugram district adjacent to the country’s capital Delhi, is becoming increasingly viral on social media. The video is about a Sikh youth entering the restaurant with a kirpan.
In the video, it can be clearly heard that a Sikh man is being stopped from entering the restaurant with a kirpan, which has hurted the religious sentiments of the Sikhs. Now this dispute has reached the central government.
Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal has demanded action in the matter.
“Disturbing reports of a Gursikh being denied entry into a restaurant in Gurgaon for sporting a ‘kirpan’ point to the need to sensitise society about the symbols of faith of Sikhism. Such acts are condemnable & create a sense of insecurity amongst minorities. I urge
@PIBHomeAffairs to issue necessary instructions to ensure such acts are not repeated, ” Badal wrote on X.
