Congress has announced Karamjit Kaur, wife of late Chaudhary Santokh Singh, as its candidate for the Jalandhar Lok Sabha by-election. The Congress has also released a list of 40 star campaigners. In which many big political faces have been included.
On the other hand, in the Jalandhar Lok Sabha by-election, the BJP has made Inder Iqbal Singh Atwal its candidate. Inder Iqbal Singh is the son of Charanjit Singh Atwal.
The last date for filing papers for the Jalandhar Lok Sabha by-election is April 20. The by-election to the Jalandhar Lok Sabha seat will be held on May 10 and the counting of votes will take place on May 13.
