ANTI-CORRUPTION JUGGERNAUT: PUNJAB VIGILANCE NABS 19 ACCUSED IN BRIBERY CASES IN A MONTH

Chandigarh: In a bid to root out the corruption from the state, Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) has nabbed 19 officials/private persons in 17 different bribery cases in the month of June 2023.

Disclosing this here, an official spokesperson of Vigilance Bureau, Punjab said that the VB has not been leaving any stone unturned to wipe out corruption from the system. Apart from this, the Vigilance Bureau has also ensured that culprits would not escape judicial punishment in the various courts of the State, he added.

Registers five vigilance inquiries to probe corruption charges 

He further said that the VB has apprehended 14 officials red handed while accepting bribe in ten different trap cases during the past month which includes seven police personnel, two Revenue Patwaris and five belonging to other departments.

He further informed that in June, the VB has submitted challans of 21 vigilance cases in courts. Apart from this, five vigilance inquiries have also been registered to probe the allegations against public servants.
