Honour killing: Newly married man hacked to death in Haryana, four arrested

Chandigarh: A shocking case of honor killing has emerged from Yamunanar, Haryana. Here, angered by his sister’s love marriage, her brothers killed their brother-in-law by slashing him with a sword.

Upon receiving information about the incident, the police arrested four suspects in the case. The deceased has been identified by the police as Abhishek. Initial police investigations revealed that Abhishek and Rishu had already been married for a year.

Rishu’s brothers got wind of Abhishek’s presence in Yamunanagar. Subsequently, Rishu’s brother, along with some friends, confronted Abhishek and attacked him with a sword. Abhishek and some of his friends sustained serious injuries in the assault, resulting in Abhishek’s death.

Yamunanagar City Station House Officer Jagdish Chandra stated, “Our investigation has uncovered that Rishu’s brother opposed the marriage. The police team has already begun investigating the case. Many more individuals are yet to be questioned during the investigation.”

He said that if the involvement of anyone else comes to light in this case, appropriate action will be taken against them.”
