Hoshiarpur: Accused named in sarpanch murder case injured in police encounter
A few days ago, the accused named in the sarpanch’s murder case was injured in a police encounter last night. The police had been searching for Anoop Kumar alias Vicky of Asalpur village for several days. According to sources, he was shot in the knee. He was brought to the Civil Hospital, from where he was referred to Amritsar.
Police are yet to confirm the incident. On Thursday, Sandeep Kumar, sarpanch of Dadiyana Kalan, was shot dead on two roads. Dalit organisations have been protesting since the same day demanding the arrest of the accused. One of the accused has already been arrested.
