Former Pakistan PM Imran Khan released after Supreme Court order

Islamabad: The Supreme Court of Pakistan has declared the arrest of former Prime Minister Imran Khan illegal. Imran Khan was arrested on Tuesday in the Al Qadir Trust case.
Khan had reached the Islamabad High Court to seek bail in several corruption cases when the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) arrested him from the court premises. The court ordered Imran Khan’s immediate release, after which he was released. After the release, Imran Khan has appealed to the people for peace.
The Supreme Court has said in a strong tone that Imran’s arrest from the court premises is disgraceful – i.e. insulting.  The Supreme Court asked Imran Khan to appear in the Islamabad High Court on Friday (May 12). Along with this, the bench of the Chief Justice of Pakistan said that you (Imran Khan) have to accept the decision of the High Court. After his release, Imran said, “I was hit with sticks in remand and I was kidnapped from the High Court.”
