Delhi will be run by Delhiites, not by parachute LG, says Raghav Chadha on Supreme Court verdict

New Delhi.  The Supreme Court has given an important decision on Thursday on the dispute between the Delhi government and the Center. The five-judge Constitution bench said, “Delhi is the right of the elected government and the assembly has the power to make laws. Delhi is different from other union territories. The Delhi government has legislative and executive authority over the services.
Ideally, the Delhi government should have control over the officers, except for those over which the assembly does not have jurisdiction. (i.e. excluding police, law and order and land). We would like to reiterate that the Lieutenant Governor will act with the advice and assistance of the Delhi government.”
AAP MP Raghav Chadha wrote on twitter, “Satyamev Jayate. We welcome today’s decision of the Supreme Court. This decision is the victory of democracy, the victory of every Delhiite. The struggle of Kejriwal ji and the people of Delhi paid off. Delhi will be run by the people of Delhi, not people like LG who were dropped by parachutes.”
