Over 1,200 flights cancelled due to a major fault in Britain’s air control system, passengers harassed

New Delhi:  Thousands of air passengers suffered today due to a technical snag in Britain’s air traffic control system. Due to the technical snag, aircraft movement was affected across the country and more than 1200 flights had to be canceled. The disruption came during the busiest days of the year, when many people are returning from summer vacations.
Flight control operator National Air Traffic Services (NATS) said the problem was identified and resolved three hours after the technical snag was reported, which could allow flights to resume normal operations. Several flights were cancelled due to a technical fault with Britain’s air traffic control system and Heathrow Airport said it would be disrupted for the rest of the day today as several flights had been cancelled.
