New Delhi: A CISF assistant sub-inspector (ASI)-level officer has been suspended after allegedly taking photographs of a woman secretly inside a Delhi Metro coach, leading to a confrontation with passengers.
According to police sources, the incident took place at around 1 pm on Sunday. A video of the incident has also gone viral on social media, showing the woman questioning and confronting the officer inside the Metro coach.
Passengers checked officer’s phone
The officer initially denied taking the woman’s photograph. However, passengers reportedly insisted on checking his mobile phone and allegedly found photographs of the woman in its gallery.
The passengers then asked him to delete the pictures. The situation escalated when the officer allegedly tried to leave the Metro, prompting some passengers to stop him. A scuffle and commotion reportedly followed.
Police sources said that no formal complaint has been filed by either side so far, but the incident is being investigated.
CISF suspends officer
Taking serious note of the incident, a senior CISF official said the officer had been suspended with immediate effect pending an inquiry.
The CISF has made it clear that such conduct will not be tolerated and that further departmental action will be taken after the investigation is completed.
