Chandigarh: The Congress high command has decided to replace Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president and Ludhiana MP Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, according to the report.
Congress sources said the party leadership in Delhi has conveyed the decision to Warring. The party is expected to appoint a new state chief just months ahead of the Punjab Assembly elections, although there is speculation over who will succeed him.
The change is expected to bring an end to the four-month-long tussle between the Warring camp and party leaders seeking his removal.
The Congress has not yet announced the name of Warring’s successor.
