Chandigarh: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has frozen 25 immovable properties worth ₹20.10 crore allegedly linked to an inter-state drug trafficking network operating in Punjab and the Chandigarh region.
The NCB’s Chandigarh zonal unit identified the properties, which include industrial plots, shops, commercial units and residential flats. Most of them are located in Mohali, including areas such as Gilco Industrial Park, City Centre-3 and City Centre Walk.
The competent authority in Delhi confirmed the freezing order on October 30, 2026, under Section 68F(2) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The NCB had initially issued the freezing order on October 2.
With the confirmation of the order, the properties cannot be sold, transferred or otherwise dealt with without violating the legal restrictions.
Drug proceeds allegedly used to acquire properties
According to the NCB’s financial investigation, proceeds generated from the sale of illegally supplied drugs were routed through bank accounts of different firms.
The agency alleged that the accused purchased properties in their own names as well as those of family members but could not establish legitimate sources of income to justify the acquisitions.
The action forms part of the agency’s efforts to identify and seize assets allegedly acquired through proceeds of drug trafficking.
