Chandigarh: The Punjab government on Tuesday ordered the transfer and posting of four IAS officers, with the orders coming into effect immediately.
According to the government orders, 2004-batch IAS officer Varun Roojam, who is currently serving as Administrative Secretary, Transport, will continue in the same post. He has also been given the additional charge of Administrative Secretary, Sports and Youth Services.
2014-batch IAS officer Sakshi Sawhney has been appointed Special Secretary, Health and Family Welfare. She will also hold additional charge as Mission Director, National Health Mission, Punjab, and Nodal Officer for the anti-drug campaign. She has further been given the charge of Director, Sports and Youth Services, owing to the vacancy in the post.
2015-batch IAS officer S Rishi will continue as Chief Administrator of the Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA), SAS Nagar. He has additionally been given the charge of Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Jalandhar.
Meanwhile, 2020-batch IAS officer Nikas Kumar has been appointed Additional Secretary, General Administration and Coordination Department.
The government has directed all four officers to assume their respective new responsibilities with immediate effect.
Recent police promotions
The latest administrative reshuffle comes three days after the Punjab government promoted five Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) to the rank of SP (Officiating). The promotions were made on the recommendations of the Departmental Screening Committee meeting held on June 9.
