Chandigarh: With growing concerns around physical and mental well-being in today’s fast-paced life, the Punjab government has launched the ‘CM Di Yogshala’ programme to encourage citizens to adopt yoga as part of their daily routine.
The initiative, launched under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, aims to make the traditional practice of yoga accessible to people without any financial burden. Free yoga classes are being conducted in the morning and evening across districts, blocks, towns and villages in Punjab.
According to the information provided by the government, lakhs of people across the state have joined the programme. Experienced and certified yoga instructors have been deployed to train participants in different asanas, pranayama and meditation techniques.
The programme is open to people across age groups, including children, youngsters, women and senior citizens. The government says the classes are particularly helping people dealing with issues such as stress, hypertension, joint pain and mental fatigue.
Free instructor for groups of 25 or more
The government has made the programme available to local communities that want to organise yoga sessions. If a locality has a suitable place for conducting classes and a group of at least 25 people, it can avail the services of a free yoga instructor.
For information and registration, the government has provided the toll-free number 76694-00500. Citizens can also apply online through the official CM Di Yogshala website:
