41 labourers trapped in tunnel, rescue operations still underway
Punjab E News: The number of labourers trapped in the Silkiara tunnel are said to be 41. Efforts are on for the seventh consecutive day to evacuate all these workers safely. This rescue operation is getting difficult every day. The machine is breaking when the mountains crack. The ongoing rescue operation to rescue the workers continues to pose challenges.
On Friday, when the pipe was being laid to build the drainage tunnel, suddenly a loud sound of a hill falling inside the tunnel was heard. This created an atmosphere of panic among the members of the rescue team and other people. After which the traffic in the tunnel was stopped immediately with the rescue operation.
