By suspending 146 MPs, 60% of the country’s people have been silenced: Rahul Gandhi

New Delhi: Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi today alleged that 146 opposition MPs were not only insulted by suspending them in the recent winter session of Parliament, but 60 per cent of the people of the country have been silenced. Addressing a sit-in organised by opposition parties at Jantar Mantar against the suspension of MPs, he also said the fight is between hatred and love and the more hatred the Bharatiya Janata Party spreads, the ‘Bharat’ alliance will spread the same love, brotherhood and unity.
He claimed that the India alliance is fully united. Meanwhile, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, without naming Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar, said he was surprised to learn that people holding constitutional posts take the name of caste in Parliament and say they have been insulted. “I was very surprised that people occupying constitutional posts say they belong to one caste and have been insulted. “If this is your situation, then a Dalit like me will be killed,” he said sarcastically.
