Centre takes up AAP’s protest against Delhi L-G in Supreme Court

PunjabENews: The Centre today took up in the Supreme Court the issue of protests by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs against the alleged interference of the Lieutenant Governor’s office in the functioning of the Delhi government and termed the protest as “unnecessary and absurd”.

When a five-judge Constitution bench headed by Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud sat down to hear the Centre-Delhi government dispute over control of services, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, appearing for the Centre, raised the issue of protest.
